Today this will be a fun weekly tip for you because it is more of an experiential one that I had to go through. Apparently I have been caught with my pants down. I’ve been burning candles on both ends, waking up at 5am and  going to bed at midnight for a couple of weeks now in order to get everything ready for you guys etc. I went through life very, very fast and burned a lot of fuel. And I got the flu, it was hard for me to admit it happen. It hit me Friday night, but I got through it and I’m here Monday morning.  With functioning still on lower power  about 65%. As you guys know, I am all about power vs. strength, energetic and things like that. So, I can’t remember the last time I’ve been sick, it’s been years.  But I am aware of what needs to happen. What I’ve noticed while going through this is that everyone tells you what to do to not get sick. But, not everyone tells you what to do when you are sick, so I will.

 

I’m going to give you three tips. I will talk about one of them in detail. So, these are the three things I want you to do when you are sick. Number 1, do not just lay there. Your body is going to fight the good fight, but it is not going to be very fast, so your sickness will be drawn out. All because you are not getting clean blood flow to the area. Stay moving, keep doing something. Now this is the one that I am going to explain in detail. Number 2, Stay hydrated. I drank a lot of tea within the two days that I was sick, plus all the things that I already do, like my green drink with fruits and vegetables. So staying hydrated is not only about H2O, there is so much more to it. I want you guys to get out of that mindset of “I just need to drink water.” Water is just not good enough. If you are going to do it, do it through fruits and vegetables. Juicing things, such as cucumbers will hydrate you better, because all the vitamins and minerals that they contain. The last thing is learn how to keep your power level low. As you guys know, I am exuberant. I have energy out the wahzoo and I love it. But there is time I must protect it. So you have to, draw boundaries. You have to close the door and not let anyone in. Especially, when they ask for your help. When you are a parent kid ask for your help all the time. This is part of my life, and you can’t let that job down. As a parent, I did this job but with boundaries.  I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. I didn’t give too much because I knew what my body was going through.  If you work with clients, they wiil call you when you are sick. You HAVE TO say, “No, I’m sorry I can’t do that today.” You have to be able to say that, because you know you have to take care of yourself before you can help anyone else.

So, those are the three things that I want you to do. What I want you to do now is to go over the first step that I told you which is keeping your body moving. So what I did is, I had a hard time getting out of bed. I had the flu I was achy, I was sore… but I needed to get out of bed.  I started realizing that I can kill 2 birds with one stone.

I want you to stay on top of your house. Sanitize the whole place. I’m talking about getting your green products out. Or get a product that is not chemically based. Because if you are cleaning everything and chemicals start to add to what your body is fight already, the sickness has the upper hand again. So just get a non-chemical based product that will sanitize your house. There is a bunch of them at Whole Foods or at any natural food store.  That’s what I want you to do. Clean up your house and sanitize everything. Keep moving while doing it, dance, move around. But keep moving and clean your house. You want to hit all the high target areas: door knobs, remote controls. My goodness, everyone is scarred to clean their phones. But your phone is one the dirtiest things ever, so clean it. Take a moist cloth and just wipe the exterior of the phone. Your house phone is another one, as well as the toilet bowl handle, all handles, the fridge, light switches. You name it. You want to clean all high traffic areas. Another thing, open the windows inside your house.  So open the windows turn on the heat and make sure you have a nice circulation of air. It winter time so it’s going to be cold.

So I was playing with my kids, I did some dancing, I did some singing. I did a lot singing with my daughter and she just laughs and laughs because I am a horrible singer. But I had fun with it, and if you are having fun, that gets your body to heal even faster.  So I had fun with my kids while cleaning the house. What I did was kill two birds with one stone, get my body moving, and I killed the virus from getting to my family. Some people spread the virus to their family because they never sanitize their house. So, going through it, I knew I was going to spread it all over the place. So, I cleaned and sanitized everything as I went. Now it’s Monday and no one has any symptoms of the flu. So I just have to monitor them and make sure they are staying hydrated, and, the virus is gone. So I realized I just killed two birds with one stone, while I was sick. So this is where it takes practice. You have to learn to do it all with low energy. It’s not about just dancing, partying or going crazy. It’s all about keeping everything low key and keeping your body moving. These is why you can actually clean your house and have fun with your family all at the same time.  And kill the flu in two days, and not skip a beat by just keeping it low key.
