Today’s weekly tip folks is something called sungazing. Sungazing I use for a lot of different things. One was a big part of healing my eyes, but I sort of altered that slightly because I started seeing the benefits of sungazing. The common way to sungaze is right when the sun comes up because you’re supposed to look into the sun and the different reds that you see actually helps your eyes and produce more blood flow etc. But if you look into the sun in height of the day, it can actually hurt you, so don’t look into the sun with your eyes open throughout the day.

If you’re going to sungaze, actual sungaze looking into the sun you want to do that right smack when the sun comes up in the morning and right before it goes down. What I am talking about is actually throughout the day and we are going to use it to become more mindful and peaceful.
What I want you to do now is whenever you come from inside to outside, it’s going to take a second or two. I want you to do is as soon as you feel the sun, I want you to stop and feel it. Take a deep breath in and feel the heat of the sun hit you. Whether it’s wintertime or whatever the case may be, you want to feel the sun hit you and acknowledge it, like ‘ah, that’s so warm. I love it. You can turn around and look into the sun, close your eyes, and what’s going to happen is you’re going to see all the reds that you would see like you were in sunrise or sunset. So you’re going to close your eyes, see and feel everything, and just acknowledge it.  Take one breathe, and move on walking along your way.

I like to do this every time I get a chance. I try to make a conscious effort to do it every time I hit from shade to sun, where I could feel that shade, where it’s just like, ‘ooh, It’s cool,  then to sun saying ooh, It’s warm.’ Doing this brings me more and more mindful. It’s going to get me to pay attention to the details of life. This is going to get you to start being present all the time.
What I want you to really focus on, is actually feel the sun.’ The sun has so many great benefits for you. It’s not going out there and spending hours and hours just focusing and trying to be in the moment. Just as you’re walking along and going through your day, feel the sun hit your skin. That’s what I want you guys to focus on. Focus on the fact that you can pinpoint what needs to happen for yourself. I like the sun. I like the feeling of the sun. That’s going to bring you present here. Once you’re becoming present, that’s what’s going to flip that switch from fight of flight to rest , relax  and healing because you decided to become present. The easiest way to become present is use your senses. When we are feeling the sun. We’re acknowledging the sun. That’s what’s going to bring you present.
